We aim at understanding the psychological and evolutionary origins of cooperation by studying several species. We work, for instance, with rats in our Rodent Lab at the University of St Andrews, children at the Baby and Child Lab of the University of St Andrews, and with chimpanzees at the Budongo Research Unit of Edinburgh Zoo and at Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in Zambia.
We are committed to being fair and respectful to everyone and take diversity, equality and inclusion seriously. Our motto is that we not only study, but also live cooperation in the Cooperation Lab. We welcome all motivated students to get in touch with Manon to discuss ideas for short- and long-term projects, including voluntary summer positions.
We encourage you to take a look at the student programmes and funding opportunities that the University of St Andrews offers. If you are interested in postgraduate
studies, we would like to highlight the taught MSc programme in Comparative, Evolutionary and Developmental Psychology and the one-year MSc research
degree. If you would like to join us as a PhD candidate or postdoctoral researcher, please get in touch. Manon is happy to help designing suitable projects, identifying funding resources and
writing grant proposals.
